Has anyone ever rolled their eyes at you…or flat-out mocked you…because of your faith in Jesus? Welcome to the club!

When people laugh, it usually reveals one of two things: insecurity or conviction. Deep down, they sense that if they seriously considered what you were saying, it might cost them something…control, comfort, or how they appear in others’ eyes. So they deflect with a smirk.

But here’s the beautiful irony: their mocking often reveals their longing. Jesus faced the very same response when He stepped into a home to raise a young girl from the dead…

“He went inside and asked, ‘Why all this commotion and weeping? The child isn’t dead; she’s only asleep.’ The crowd laughed at him. But he made them all leave, and he took the girl’s father and mother and his three disciples into the room where the girl was lying. Holding her hand, he said to her, ‘Talitha koum,’ which means ‘Little girl, get up!’ And the girl, who was twelve years old, immediately stood up and walked around! They were overwhelmed and totally amazed.” Mark 5:39–42 NLT

Jesus wasn’t intimidated by the crowd’s laughter. He knew exactly what lived inside Him… the power of the Holy Spirit. And here’s the staggering truth: that same Spirit now lives in you! The Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead is now your boldness. Let that sink in.

I’ve shared my One Minute Witness thousands of times over the years. And honestly? I can only recall two or three occasions when someone flat-out refused to listen. That’s it. The harvest is far greater than the resistance. So step out. Be bold. Share freely.

And if someone does reject you…remember this: they aren’t rejecting you. They’re rejecting their only hope of finding true love. That’s not a reason to pull back. It’s a reason to love them even more.
