The more I try in my own strength to be His witness, the more frustrated I become.

But here’s the key: before Jesus sent His disciples out at Pentecost, He told the 120 to wait in the upper room for power. So must I.

Paul reminds us to “be filled with the Spirit”—not a one-time filling, but a continual one. Each day we must die to ourselves and remind our flesh who we are following. The same power that raised Jesus now lives in us, and it is through that power we become effective witnesses.

Here’s the divine process: the Spirit witnesses to us about God, and then we witness to others about Him.

Jesus said, “But I will send you the Advocate—the Spirit of truth. He will come to you from the Father and will testify all about me. And you must also testify about me because you have been with me from the beginning of my ministry.” — John 15:26-27 (NLT).

Translation? The Spirit tells us of God’s greatness, and then we share that greatness with others.

That’s why we must never leave home without being filled again with the Spirit. Talk to Him the moment you wake up. Pray in the Spirit. Listen to His voice as you read the Bible. Ask Him to lead you to one person each day with whom He is already working, so you can join Him in that conversation.

You and the Spirit make a powerful team. It’s God’s plan and His will. You’ve been drafted onto His team, and now you get to partner with the Spirit to accomplish great exploits for His glory. He is your help, your strength, and your guide.

So let’s go—filled, empowered, and ready to witness!
