Sharing the Greatest News

If you are afraid to share your faith with others, you have forgotten one very, important thing.

The word ‘evangelism’ means the sharing of the ‘good news’! You and I have been chosen to spread the joy of the Lord to hurting hearts!

But many Christians have not entered into this joy of evangelism. If that’s you today, here’s a word of encouragement for you from the birth of Jesus:

“but the angel reassured them. “Don’t be afraid!” he said. “I bring you good news that will bring great joy to all people… After seeing him, the shepherds told everyone what had happened and what the angel had said to them about this child.” Luke 2:10, 17 NLT

When I watch the news on TV, they often display a title of “BREAKING NEWS”. It is usually something tragic that just happened. Somehow bad news travels faster than good news.

But you and I have the most breaking news possible:

“JESUS DIED AND ROSE AGAIN TO SAVE SINNERS!“

I recently shared my faith with our waitress at a restaurant. She prayed to receive Jesus. When we were finished praying, she said, “I have never heard these words before!”

To tell people that Jesus loves them enough to die for them is the greatest news they will ever hear in their entire lifetime. Nothing comes close, and nothing is more true. This is life-changing for those who listen to you.

Let’s get ready to share the good news today. Let’s ask the Holy Spirit to lead us to one person who is ready to listen and to receive. Then both them and we will experience this great joy again.

They will be forgiven by Jesus, and we will return to our first love!
