Did you know our world is facing an electricity crisis? The explosive growth of AI (artificial intelligence) is driving a demand for power that our current grid simply wasn’t built to handle.
Experts say power consumption is about to soar. Utility companies are scrambling to expand capacity — but some critical components are already in short supply. Large power transformers? Manufacturers have waiting lists measured in years. The need for infrastructure, investment, and skilled workers has never been greater.
As Andrew Phillips, Vice President of Transmission and Distribution Infrastructure at the Electric Power Research Institute, put it:
“Getting a new factory up to speed for transmission power transformers not only requires significant investment in facilities and lead times, but also requires training of staff and skills that often take years to get to the acceptable standards for reliability at the transmission level.”
But here’s the thing — the Church of Jesus Christ faces an even greater challenge. And it’s not a new one. In fact, Jesus identified it over 2,000 years ago.
“Then He said to His disciples, ‘The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.’” Matthew 9:37-38 NKJV
Did you catch that? Let’s be clear about what the problem is not:
It’s not the harvest.
It’s not God’s power.
It’s not God’s willingness to save people.
The real challenge? There simply aren’t enough laborers carrying His message to a lost and hurting world.
But here’s the great news — this problem is completely fixable!
Every believer already has access to the greatest power source in the universe: the Holy Spirit. We don’t need to manufacture more power. We don’t need to wait years for delivery. We simply need to connect people to the Source.
As we spend time with God each day, the Holy Spirit fills us, strengthens us, and guides us. Then He leads us — with pinpoint precision — to the very people whose hearts He is already preparing. Friend, it’s like having a divine GPS that never loses signal!
Just imagine: what if every Christian intentionally shared their faith story with just one person each day? Entire communities would be transformed. Families. Neighborhoods. Cities. Nations.
So let’s pray boldly for more laborers. Let’s ask the Holy Spirit to fill us to overflowing. And let’s follow His leading — confidently, joyfully, wherever He directs us.
The same Spirit who shook the world in the book of Acts is alive and at work today.
“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.” Hebrews 13:8 NKJV
The harvest is still plentiful. The power is still available. The invitation is still open.
Will you be one of His laborers today?
