Friends and Family

Sometimes employees at a retail store get a “Friends and Family discount.”

Jesus offers one too. His “Friends & Family” plan may be the most effective evangelism strategy you’ll ever use.

Remember the demon-possessed man who was suddenly sitting in his right mind, completely free? He was so overwhelmed with joy that he begged to travel with Jesus and the team. But Jesus said no. Instead, He sent him back home to his friends and family in Decapolis, a region of ten towns where he had grown up. His assignment was beautifully simple: go tell them what God had done for him.

“As Jesus was getting into the boat, the man who had been demon possessed begged to go with him. But Jesus said, ‘No, go home to your family, and tell them everything the Lord has done for you and how merciful he has been.’ So the man started off to visit the Ten Towns of that region and began to proclaim the great things Jesus had done for him; and everyone was amazed at what he told them.” Mark 5:18-20 NLT

It was the simplest evangelism training course ever given! Jesus told him one thing:

“Go and tell others what God did for you!”

No Bible handed over. No memorized prayer. No One Minute Witness training. Just go and tell!

Your friends and family don’t need a theology course from you. They don’t need you to have every scripture figured out. By far, the most powerful thing you can share with them is what God has personally done in your life.

You don’t have to know all the answers. Just tell them how Christ forgave you, and changed you for the better when you made Him your leader. That’s it. That’s the message.

The Holy Spirit will take it from there.
