A Jewish Revival?

Years ago, I visited Tel Aviv, Israel in the Holy Land. To me, it didn’t seem very holy.

Rather, there were a lot of sinners openly celebrating their sin there. I wondered how this could be God’s promised land, when so few believers in Jesus lived here?

The Jew’s last chapter has not yet been written. God has promised in the end days before Jesus returns a great revival will happen. When will this happen? Read Paul’s note to the non-Jews, or the Gentiles:

“I want you to understand this mystery, dear brothers and sisters, so that you will not feel proud about yourselves. Some of the people of Israel have hard hearts, but this will last only until the full number of Gentiles comes to Christ. And so all Israel will be saved. As the Scriptures say, “The one who rescues will come from Jerusalem, and he will turn Israel away from ungodliness.” Romans 11:25-26 NLT

Did you get that? All Israel will be saved. The Jew’s hard hearts will one day soften when the final and full number of Gentiles have come to Christ.

This means, although most Jews are far from Jesus their Messiah today, one day, Jesus and His Spirit are going to march down from Mount Zion, clean house there, and send a great spiritual revival throughout all Israel. Why? Because God’s commitment to Israel has never waned. He was the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob and He is still the God of every Jew who humbles himself and repents. This is great news for the Jewish people!

Their constant pride and rebellion two thousand years ago, caused God to turn away from the Jews, and present Jesus to the Gentiles. That’s us non-Jews. So because of God’s great mercy, God made both Jews and Gentiles to be outside His grace, so they would see their own sin, and desire to be inside His grace.

“For God has imprisoned everyone in disobedience so he could have mercy on everyone.” Romans 11:32 NLT

When God’s window of mercy closes for the Gentiles, that’s when this promised revival will take place among the Jews.

When will this window close? No one knows, but it is soon. This is why we urgently share our faith-story.
