The world boxing champion, Muhammad Ali, bragged he was the greatest. Sorry Mr. Ali.
Who is the greatest in heaven? The Bible clearly states there will be different degrees of greatness and reward in heaven, based upon our earthly actions.
“And from the throne came a voice that said, “Praise our God, all his servants, all who fear him, from the least to the greatest.”” Revelation 19:5 NLT
So who does God rate as the greatest in heaven? Read on…
SERVANT-HEARTED PEOPLE- “And He sat down, called the twelve, and said to them, “If anyone desires to be first, he shall be last of all and servant of all.”” Mark 9:35 NKJV
MARTYRS FOR THEIR FAITH- “Others were tortured, not accepting deliverance, that they might obtain a better resurrection…. of whom the world was not worthy.”
Hebrews 11:35, 38 NKJV
THOSE PERSECUTED FOR THEIR FAITH- “Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake. Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.” Matthew 5:11-12 NKJV
THE HUMBLE AND BROKEN-HEARTED- “Therefore whoever humbles himself as this little child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.” Matthew 18:4 NKJV
THE WISE AND SOULWINNERS- “Those who are wise shall shine like the brightness of the firmament, And those who turn many to righteousness like the stars forever and ever.”
Daniel 12:3 NKJV
So what’s our point of action? Let’s pursue on earth what our Lord values most in heaven.
