Feel tired and out of energy? Here’s a boost!
Researchers have now found exercise doesn’t drain our energy, but rather adds to it. There’s now more evidence “that our energy budgets are flexible and additive, meaning physical activity allows for an increase in the total amount of energy a person spends.”
But there’s more. The Bible says waiting in prayer on the Lord doesn’t decrease our energy, but rather it also increases our strength!
“But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.” Isaiah 40:31 KJV
Did you get that? People say they don’t have time to pray, but actually prayerlessness keeps them from their full potential. And regular prayer increases their strength!
Unfortunately, I waited until I was already in ministry, and felt like I was lacking something. When I was around 24 years old, God spoke to me about my prayer time. He did it in a strange way.
I was lifting weights with a buddy of mine, trying to strengthen my muscles. But instead I hurt my back, and had to stop. I was then in a lot of back pain, that could only be lessened by kneeling, or pulling my legs up to my chest. One day I was kneeling by my bed, not to pray, but to lessen my pain. And then God spoke to me. He asked why I did not have a disciplined prayer life when I was already 24 years old? He told me He would heal my back as I spent time in prayer. In 30 days, I had a healed back, and a disciplined prayer life!
Prayer changes us. We can never reach our potential without it. But with it, we become close to God, our source of energy!
