Are you inundated with life’s pressures? Submerged in debt? Flooded with fear?

At certain times, most people feel buried with the challenges of life. That’s why so many turn to fixations such as alcohol or gambling, trying to escape their reality.

But not Isaiah. And not believers. And not you.

“I am overwhelmed with joy in the Lord my God! For he has dressed me with the clothing of salvation and draped me in a robe of righteousness. I am like a bridegroom dressed for his wedding or a bride with her jewels.” Isaiah 61:10 NLT

Think about our reality in Christ. God has pardoned us with His forgiveness. We are now born again. Saved. We are clothed with His righteousness. And we’re going to heaven!

Instead of life’s pressures, we have peace. Instead of fear, we have confidence. And instead of loneliness, we have purpose.

We are overwhelmed with His joy! Who saw that coming?

We are filled with the potential of the Spirit living in us: love, joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, meekness, self-control and faith! WOW! This is overwhelming.

No matter the challenges we face, we are never alone. He promised to always be with us, in every storm, in every problem, and in every heartache.

I will never forget my wedding day to Vicki. As she walked down the aisle with her stunning wedding dress, I thought I was the luckiest guy in the world! I was overwhelmed with joy!

Similarly, we can look forward with great joy to our time to meet our Lord, and live in heaven forever. In fact, our eternal life begins now. Those who are born again are born twice, but die only once. Those without Christ are born once, but die twice.

Why wait any longer? Let’s start praising Him today, even if we are in a valley. After all, we are saved, and going to heaven! Let’s remind ourselves we are clothed with His righteousness, and dressed for our wedding! Let’s keep heaven on our mind.
