What dreams has God planted in your spirit?
Salvation for loved ones? Your future spouse? A way to influence your world for Jesus? Children? A new job? His provision? A nice home?
Here’s the truth. You aren’t believing big enough. God’s plans are much bigger than what we are asking Him for. Yes, God can and will do the above things if they are in His will.
But God is bigger than we think. So we need to think differently. God wants our faith to grow much bigger than what we think we need for ourselves. Faith is believing for what we cannot do. Faith grows by putting our trust in God and His word!
“Now faith is the assurance (title deed, confirmation) of things hoped for (divinely guaranteed), and the evidence of things not seen [the conviction of their reality—faith comprehends as fact what cannot be experienced by the physical senses].” Hebrews 11:1 AMP
No, I’m not saying God’s promising you a bigger house, a bigger income or a newer car. That may or may not happen. Faith is not a gambling casino, or a drive-up window.
Faith is never us telling God, but always us listening to God. Faith is a desire to hear what God’s plans are for us, and then relentlessly pursuing them. Faith chooses to believe what sometimes seems impossible to man. Faith believes what God says before we see it.
As you pray and read God’s word, He will plant His desires in your heart. Eventually you will hear His desires, even if a little at a time. Then if you act on what He says, your faith will increase, and He will take you to the next level.
Faith is designed to grow. My faith grew when I joined a Bible quiz team as a teenager, memorizing lots of scripture. It grew when I was 14 years old, and invited my best friend to hear an evangelist, and he got saved. It grew when I was 16 years old and went on a month-long missions trip to Jamaica. It grew as my fiancé and I gave away our wedding money to missions. And many other things were part of my journey, until in 2006, I decided to try to share my faith daily. And by God’s grace, now we are training others to share their faith in about 100 countries! And there’s more steps of faith still coming. Only faith in God could do this!
So, think differently. You serve a God that is bigger than you think.
