Israel is God’s chosen land, and the Jews are His chosen people.

God gets to do that. Just like us, He has favorites too. But now in Christ, we all are His favorites. In fact, God is not willing any should perish, but all should come to repentance!

Listen to the evangelist Isaiah summon the people to honor God:

“The Lord has sent this message to every land: “Tell the people of Israel, ‘Look, your Savior is coming. See, he brings his reward with him as he comes.’” They will be called “The Holy People” and “The People Redeemed by the Lord.” And Jerusalem will be known as “The Desirable Place” and “The City No Longer Forsaken.”” Isaiah 62:11-12 NLT

Similarly, we can join Isaiah in telling every land, “The Savior is coming!” It’s our privilege to announce the royal birth, life, death and resurrection of the world’s Savior!

Christ-mas is supposed to be all about Christ’s birth and purpose. But we’ve made it into a cultural winter holiday about elves, Santa and snowmen.

Many churches once alive in Christ now embrace dead religious rituals, with social agendas replacing repentance.

Let’s affect our culture. Let’s remind them of the real meaning of Christmas, and the real purpose God has for each of us to know Jesus personally. Let’s share our faith until it become a disciple’s culture and privilege, and not just something we dread.
