Have you ever wanted to tell someone about Jesus, but didn’t know where to start or felt like you didn’t have enough time? You’re not alone. Many believers want to share their faith but worry about saying the wrong thing or being caught off guard. The truth is, you can share the good news of Jesus in just one minute, and it can change someone’s life.
What is Evangelism?
Evangelism simply means sharing the message of Jesus Christ, which is His love, forgiveness, and the gift of eternal life He offers to everyone who believes. It’s part of the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20), where Jesus calls His followers to “go and make disciples of all nations.” Evangelism isn’t about having all the answers or preaching a perfect sermon; it’s about being a witness to the life change Jesus has made in you.
The One-Minute Gospel
If you only had sixty seconds, here’s a simple way to share your faith clearly and naturally:
- Start with a Question — When we ask people ‘permission’ to share our thoughts, we treat them with respect, and their defenses come down. Try a question like “May I tell you about a person who changed my life?” or “What’s the best thing that’s ever happened to you?”
- Share Your Story Before Christ — In one sentence, share how your life was before Jesus. For example: “I used to feel lost and anxious about life.”
- Describe Your Turning Point — Explain what happened when you met Jesus. “Then I learned that Jesus loves me and gave His life for me.”
- Tell Them How Life Has Changed — Point to the difference He’s made in your life since you made your decision: “Now I have peace and purpose every day because of Him.”
- Show the Difference — Let’s wrap up your story with what your life might be like if you had never met Jesus. When you speak, the listener will hear your heart.
That’s it. How to share the gospel in one minute is simple. In just sixty seconds, you’ve shared the message of grace, redemption, and hope.

Be Ready and Bold
The Bible reminds us to always be ready to answer the hope within us (1 Peter 3:15). That’s why evangelism training and discipleship are so important. As we grow in faith, we become more confident and compassionate witnesses able to meet people where they are and point them toward Jesus.
After sharing the ONE MINUTE WITNESS™, you may ask them questions such as:
- “So what about you? If you died tonight, do you think you would go to heaven?”
- “How do you think someone gets to heaven?”
- “May I tell you how the Bible says you can know you’re going to heaven?” If their answer is “yes,” introduce the “ABCs.”
- ADMIT I have done wrong, and my sin separates me from a holy God. (Romans 3:23)
- BELIEVE that Jesus Christ died to forgive me, and then rose again, proving He is the one true God. (Romans 10:9-10)
- CONFESS that I have sinned; ask Jesus to help me turn away from sin and be my savior. (1 John 1:9) If they understand the ABCs, then ask this key question: “What would stop you from totally surrendering your life to Jesus Christ today?” If there’s nothing stopping them, then ask, “With God’s help, would you be willing to turn away from what the Bible calls ‘sin,’ and follow Jesus daily?”
Everyday Opportunities to Share
You don’t have to be on a mission trip or need the perfect moment to share your faith. God gives us opportunities in everyday conversations with friends, coworkers, or even strangers. When we practice listening, caring, and being genuine, the Holy Spirit often opens doors to talk about Jesus naturally.
You can also pray for those moments:
- Ask God for boldness and sensitivity.
- Pray for divine appointments.
- Trust that your small acts of obedience create a ripple of community impact and spiritual renewal.
Why it Matters
When you share your story, you’re part of something much bigger. Around the world, millions still haven’t heard the name of Jesus, and whole communities are waiting for the good news of salvation. At Oasis World Ministries, we meet this need by providing clean water and sharing the gospel with communities that haven’t had this privilege.
Just as a one-minute conversation can spark faith in a single heart, every well we build opens the door for lasting renewal. Communities are transformed as they receive clean water, and hearts are renewed by the hope they found in Christ.
Every witness matters. Every story counts. And your one-minute story could be the start of someone’s forever story.
