I was at the Minneapolis airport, and saw something I will not soon forget.
Inside the airport are many electric carts for passengers who need assistance to ride. I saw an empty cart, and nearby was the driver. He was kneeling in an obscure corner, facing east, and praying to Allah. Suddenly I felt proud of him.
No, not proud he was praying to Allah. But I thought, “here is a man who doesn’t care what others think. He is fully committed to fulfilling his 5 daily prayer times as a Muslim, even in public.” I then thought, “Lord, let me learn from him.”
David said something similar: “Now I stand on solid ground, and I will publicly praise the Lord.” Psalms 26:12 NLT
David was saying, I am not like those who take bribes and invent evil schemes. I stand on solid ground with my integrity. Since I have nothing to hide, I will publicly praise my God!
In a world where people are more outspoken than ever, it’s right that Christians would also speak up,… but speak the truth in love. No, I am not talking about debating or arguing. But if we would ask the Holy Spirit to give us His boldness, I believe He would lead us to speak more, and hide inside our churches less.
To be world-changers, we must be willing to go into our world. We swim upstream. We run towards danger. Occasionally people will disagree with us. But most won’t, because most are followers.
Christianity needs more men and women, teenagers, and children who will publicly declare the Lordship of Jesus. God needs people, like you, who will look for and pray for opportunities to influence others at your workplace, in your schools, and in your neighborhood.
May God raise up an army who eagerly looks for ways to publicly declare His glory! Start again today… with me.
