As you read this, there are dozens of wars currently in progress on our earth, some starting decades ago.
But peace is not just an absence of conflict. Rather, peace is the presence of God.
Prisoners of war can be at peace in their heart. Those being persecuted for their faith can still have peace, even if they are martyred.
God’s peace is quite different than our world’s peace. In fact Jesus said, “My peace I give unto you…..
How do we find this perfect peace? Simple. By choosing to whole-heartedly trust in our God.
“I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.” Romans 15:13 NLT
Whenever I get the privilege of praying with someone to receive Jesus, I always ask them two questions:
- Did you mean that prayer with all your heart? 100% say they did.
- What happened when you prayed? Most say they sense a kind of new peace fill them.
God’s peace is called perfect peace. It’s available for all of us as we set our minds on things above, and not on things of this earth. Worry robs our peace. Trust in God restores our peace.
So what would stop you today from trusting God completely? Will you surrender it to Him right now? Will you become like a child holding his father’s hand again? Will you realize He is holding you, more than you are holding Him?
