God’s Power VS Mine

Compared to God’s power, mine is weak… and even laughable.

Think about it. God’s word spoke the world into existence. His breath created humanity. His knowledge is beyond understanding. His weakness, which is none, is mightier than our strength.

In other words, God is all-mighty, all-knowing, and is everywhere at once. He has no contestant or rival… not even Satan.

And yet, knowing this, we still depend on our own strength, our own knowledge, and our own experience. How stupid are we? Maybe God would give us the same questions He did to Job…

“Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth? Tell me, if you know so much. Who determined its dimensions and stretched out the surveying line? What supports its foundations, and who laid its cornerstone? (Who said to the waves).., ‘This far and no farther will you come. Here your proud waves must stop!’ “Have you ever commanded the morning to appear and caused the dawn to rise in the east? “Where does light come from, and where does darkness go? Where is the path to the source of light? Where is the home of the east wind? “Can you shout to the clouds and make it rain? Can you make lightning appear and cause it to strike as you direct? Who gives intuition to the heart and instinct to the mind?” Job 38:4-6, 11-12, 19, 24, 34-36 NLT

And Job, upon hearing these questions from God, bowed in total humility.

So let’s also bow. Then let’s ask God to give us confidence in His power, and not our own. His knowledge, and not our own. His experience, and certainly not our own.

We are His workmanship,…created for good works,… that He would do through us…by His Spirit. (Ephesians 2:10, 3:20)

So buckle up.
