OMW – WHAT SHOULD I SAY?

It’s one of the most common questions for Christians wanting to share their faith. What should I say?

  • What if they ask me a religious question I don’t know the answer to?
  • What if I freeze up and panic?
  • What if they’re smarter than me, or older than me?
  • What if they’re just not interested?

What should I say? Well, first learn your One Minute Witness at www.OneMinuteWitness.org Then practice it a few times with some Christian friends. Your confidence will grow a lot when you realize you have a story worth telling. Plus, no one can argue with you, or tell you it’s not true. Your testimony is your best marketing tool. It’s your personal experience, and it’s 100% valid.

Second, it’s okay to answer their questions like this: “I don’t know, but I would be happy to research it and get back to you if you’d like me to.” Christians don’t have to know it all.

Third, learn to depend on God to show you what to say by impressing you with His thoughts. Learn to be led by His Spirit when to speak and what to say. It’s what Jesus learned to do:

“I don’t speak on my own authority. The Father who sent me has commanded me what to say and how to say it. And I know his commands lead to eternal life; so I say whatever the Father tells me to say.” John 12:49-50 NLT
