Over 11,840 decisions for Christ were made on this two week trip to India. The festival held in Nagaland, Northern India far exceeded everyone's expectations. All seats to the front, sides, and behind the stadium were filled for all five days of the Gospel & Healing Festival. Its success was made possible in large part because of the tremendous unity of the local India churches and the prayers and support of Oasis sponsors.

In addition, the Oasis team led an "Ignite the Fire" training seminar for pastors and Christian leaders; met with the 19 Oasis National Evangelists and their wives for a time of encouragement, team building, and training; and the dedicaiton of a church and 15 fresh-water wells that have been drilled at remote third-world villages without clean, running water.

Nagaland, Northern India

This was head-hunter territory with no Christians until 1950. There was a great awakening as the blood of the martyred missionaries paid off, with most of the state now confessing Jesus as Lord. However, like America, much of the Christianity in Nagaland has become nominal. We will be conducting a large open-air festival in the town of Kohima, the capital city. Billy Graham actually did a crusade on the same grounds in 1972.
