National Evangelists
Each National Evangelist conducts weekly three-day festivals throughout India's most unreached villages to share the Gospel to people who have not heard. Evangelists introduce 5,000-10,000 people to Jesus as Savior each year.
National Evangelist: Abel
Abel has seen 6,145 people make decisions for Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior in his travels to remote villages of India.
December 2009 At the fourth mini-festival held in December, the young people brought the Christmas story to life through drama. For most of the people from the village, it had been the first time that they had ever heard about a God who loves them. The local pastor was happy about the mini-festival started a new church service in the village.
November 2009 A 50-year-old orthodox Hindu farmer was perplexed when his best milking buffalo stopped eating, drinking, and allowing her calf to nurse. Because of her unusual behavior, he called the veterinarian who treated the buffalo with medicine. When the treatment didn’t work, the farmer brought the buffalo to the Hindu temple. The priest said it was possessed by a demon and instructed the farmer to bring the buffalo to a Christian pastor for prayer. That’s when the Hindu farmer brought his buffalo to one of our mini-festivals. When we prayed for the buffalo, it was healed and delivered from the evil spirit. The farmer and his family were so happy and amazed that they invited us to their home to pray for them and the rest of their buffalo. As a result, the whole family believes in Jesus because of this great miracle.
September 2009 Healings: Mrs. Kanakaratnam (68) had been suffering from facial paralysis for the past three years. God healed her and it was a wonder and miracle for everyone in the meeting and in the village. This miracle gave us opportunity to speak about Jesus with boldness.
Mrs. Sevaramma (58) said suffered from asthma for three years, severe leg pain for four years, and has not able to lift her hand for the past seven years. She joined with us in prayer and God's power touched her, and all the pains vanished during the prayer.
Mr. Raju (34) has been mentally affected since a child and acted childishly and abnormally. After receiving prayer, he feel something new and fresh in his mind and claims God made him a man indeed.
August 2009 Healings: Mr. Babu (35) was an orthodox Hindu by birth. He is married with three school-aged children. He is a muscular man and had been number one in all the village. Unfortunately he fell sick and was diagnosed as being under the clutch of Satan. He was brought to the meeting and was freed during the first evening. The people were surprise, yet he is well and God is honored.
July 2009 Healings: Mrs. Mallaswari is conservative Hindu, a regular worshiper of her goddess, the same time she had been a prostitute. Inside her house was the smell of a dead body and the feeling of snakes coiling her neck all the time. She had horrific dreams that held her in dread. She came to the meeting and was healed and delivered from demons. She stopped worshipping the goddess and started worshipping Jesus.
May 2009 Kanderru is almost cut off from communications with neighboring villages which posed a challenge to do ministry here. Each night we were disrupted by lashing wind and pouring rain. Despite the challenges, 125 people made Jesus Christ their Lord and Savior during this mini-festival.
Paramaikonda is a predominantly Muslim village. We conducted our meetings in the street. Despite scorching summer heat wind, the people happily spent their time with us and 155 people made Jesus Christ their Lord and Savior. It was indeed God’s hand that protected us and helped us to complete the meetings successfully.
Swarnabarathi Nagar is actually a colony formed by villagers who had moved there in search of survival. Comprised of mainly Hindus and evil spirits, we presented Jesus to the people during our meetings and received a good response (80 out of 215 people made decisions for Christ).
April 2009 Now that school examination days are over, we had a very good response from the people. The local pastor traveled a long distance to visit two days each week to this Hindu village. Meetings were held each morning to encourage those who follow Jesus and together we served food for those who came to the mini-festival at night. The meetings were amazing and 140 people came to know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.
